After recently chatting with a friend from the US about living in the UK, the one thing which he said he would miss most once he returns is the plethora of amazing architecture and history which the UK has to offer. In my opinion, London has some of the most amazing buildings and structures in the world so when Annabel & Rick asked me to photograph their wedding in Central London, of course I jumped at the chance.
As they were having a small wedding with their closest family & friends they chose to tie-the-knot at the Islington Town Hall and went on to celebrate their marriage at the beautiful St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel. And while the St. Pancras was built in 1876 and is a wonderful example of Victorian Gothic design it was most recently made famous by The Spice Girls when they used it in their music video ‘Wannabe’ – and of course we had to take a few shots on the famous grand staircase!
Annabel was striking in her Tara Keely 2450 Wedding Dress from JLM Couture, accessorised by her simple bouquet of cream roses created by her Aunt from Cinnamon Rose Flowers. And Rick looked every bit the modern day James Bond in his elegant dinner suit and black tie.
Before the happy couple went on to celebrate, we wanted to make the most of the architecture and captured some beautiful images with the historic St. Pancras building as our backdrop. The short Autumn day meant that we could use the evening light to dramatic effect and really show off the details of this iconic building.
The wedding party then went on to the private dining room at the The Gilbert Scott restaurant where they were toasted & celebrated into the night.
