As this is my first blog post I though it was only right to start from the beginning, and as it happens I recently returned to where it all began for a commercial shoot – Caserio del Mirador.
Back in 2004 my husband David & I decided we needed a change of direction in our lives, we left our jobs in the UK and made the move to Spain. We stumbled across a beautiful little village called Jalon (in one of the greatest wine growing valleys in Spain) and found ourselves living in a picture postcard setting on the side of a mountain.
Now that we had settled in this stunning region and left behind the constraints of the 9-5, I could finally do what I’d dreamed of and became a full time professional photographer.
One of my very first clients just happened to be our neighbours who own & run the luxury guest house Caserio del Mirador. They asked me to photograph the Caserio and the gardens for their new marketing and promotional materials, they also needed some artwork for the walls of the numerous apartments within as they were soon to have a visit from Alastair Sawday’s Special Places to Stay, in which my photographs were published (I’ll share these images with you in a separate post).
And so it all began…
6 years later and a move back to the UK, I have returned to Caserio del Mirador to update their imagery and capture the essence of this family friendly luxury retreat.
