According to a recent survey ‘9 out of 10 people admit to loving chocolate…the other 1 lied’
Our obsession with chocolate has spanned centuries and for very good reason…in my opinion.
There are a lot of naturally occurring chemicals in chocolate that are either good for us or affect our mood. There’s a chemical that induces feelings associated with love, as well as tryptophan, which makes us very happy indeed.
And in celebration of this wonderous indulgence the bar Osbourne’s Jesmond has designed two delicious cocktails which I photographed for National Chocolate Week and of course I had to sample the produce.
The first is the devilishly moreish Chocolate Thunder – a mix of toffee vodka, Brown curacao and Cream served in a martini glass with a sugar nest on top.
The second, dessert in a glass Honeycomb Chocolate – a mix of Brown Curacao, Frangelico, Jack Daniels Honey and cream served on the rocks garnished with chocolate coated strawberries.
I think you’ll agree this is a great alternative way to celebrate the UK’s National Chocolate Week, however, personally I think we should celebrate it every week.
